Back pains affects 67 mio. people in EU eaxh year

• 60 - 90% of the EU population experiences back pains in their lifetime
• Back pains once means recurrences of up to 85%

• 12,5% to 13,5% of all sick days are due to back pains
• Costing approx. 1,7% of BNP in the EU yearly

Backpains accounts for 50% of all health costs in the EU.

In the Netherland a study shows that 50% of all disability payments are due to back problems. In Germany in year 2000 130 Mio. days were lost due to MSC (Muscleskeletal conditions)

In Germany alone the Health insurer Barmer estimate the costs for the German taxpayers at 40 Billion € a year!!!
